NOTE
Our trips are dictated by the wind and waves so we plan on the go which adds to the adventure. It does make it impossible to make a definite plan in advance and every week is unique but we’ve put together an example week to give you an idea of where you could end up.

With this in mind (see NOTE) this is what a typical sailing trip can look like:

Kiel

We start this week in Kiel. After quick introductions, a safety briefing and bite to eat we set off. Once out of the harbour, we hoist the sails for the first time which is always exciting!

Schleimunde

On this trip we’ve made it to Schleimunde, a beautiful hidden gem of the German Baltic coast. Although not an island it is only reachable by boat which makes feels like a secret place, far away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. A perfect likely first night on the boat.

(cont.) Marstal

We’ve made it to Denmark! We’re on the beautiful island of Ærø in the maritime town of Marstal. Here we can explore the town and learn about its maritime history in the Marstal Maritime museum. There’s space to run around, cute streets to explore and we can definitely go swimming.

Fåborg

Fåborg is a beautiful and historic Danish town on the Island of Fyn. Our group is challenged to go on a Scavenger Hunt through the most picturesque streets.

Avernako

This harbour is perfect for a barbeque dinner and there’s often live music. After a good night’s sleep, we rent bikes and explore the island at a proper pace, bringing a picnic with us to eat in the golden wheat fields while we watch the boats drift by.

Anchorage

No, we haven’t arrived in Alaska, we’ve dropped anchor in a sheltered cove. We’re very much camping on the sea and it’s always an exciting time. We can Tarzan swing off into the cool Baltic waters or just jump off the bow if the swing’s a bit intimidating. After a quick shower, it’s time to warm up with a good plate of food.

Eckernförde

We’re back in Germany for the night on our journey back from Denmark. The beautiful town of Eckernförde has the perfect beach for watching the sun set, playing some games and going for a night swim or stroll along the promenade. Tomorrow we’re back to Kiel to sadly say goodbye but hopefully see you next year
